When you use specific programs on Windows 11, the system is assigned a unique advertising identification number that enables advertising businesses to monitor your usage and display tailored advertisements.
Some people may view this as a privacy concern, even if tailored advertisements can occasionally be useful in identifying various goods and services that you would find interesting. You may turn off the tracking ID in Windows 11 if you’re among those who would rather not see ads based on your actions. Although they won’t be customized, you will still see advertisements in the various apps.
You may learn how to turn off advertising tracking in Windows 11 apps by following this instruction.
Disable advertising tracking on Windows 11
Follow these procedures to turn off Windows 11’s advertising tracking:
OpenSettings on Windows 11.
Click on Security & Privacy.
Click the Generaltab under the Windows permissions section.
Using my advertising ID toggle switch, I may disable the Let apps from displaying targeted adverts.
After you follow the instructions, Windows 11 will stop displaying behavior-based tailored ads on programs that use this special advertising identification. Ads will still appear, but they won’t be tailored to you. Additionally, this option won’t prevent Google from displaying tailored advertisements. You will need to disable personalization from your Google account online in this situation.
You may also turn off the settings on the General page to stop Windows 11 from tracking the behavior of your apps, the Settings app from suggesting content, and websites from displaying material depending on your language.
