On Windows 10, Nearby Sharing is a new feature to share any type of files and web links with minimal effort wirelessly to nearby devices using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
You will recognize Windows 10’s Nearby Sharing if you have ever used Apple AirDrop. When you need to send a report to your boss quickly or you’re just using your tablet on the couch and you want to send a screenshot or link to someone nearby, this feature makes it incredibly simple to do so without the need for file sharing, cloud storage services, or email attachments.

Enable Nearby Sharing on Windows 10
Follow these steps to enable Nearby Sharing in Windows 10:
Windows 10’s OpenSettings.
Select “System.”
Select “Share experiences.”
Switch on the Nearby Sharing toggle.
Once you complete the steps, when you click theSharebutton on Microsoft Edge, File Explorer, Photos, and other apps, you ll notice a new interface with a list of devices configured to receive files wirelessly using Nearby Sharing.
After sharing the content, the recipient will receive a notification, which they must accept to complete the transfer. By default, all transfers will download to theDownloadsfolders, but you can always use theSave files I receive tooption to change the location.
Nearby Sharing has been designed to share content with every device, but by using theI can share or receive content fromdrop-down menu, you can restrict sharing content only with your devices.
Enable Nearby Sharing from Action Center
Follow these instructions to activate Nearby Sharing from Action Center:
Using the Windows key and A, open Action Center.
Click the “Nearby Sharing” button in the Quick actions area.
Once the procedures are finished, you can begin sharing and receiving material on Windows 10 from other devices.
