This article will show you how to activate the new Outlook experience, which is available as an early preview for Windows 11 (and 10) devices. Microsoft has released a revised version of Outlook that has some new features, like a single view for tasks, calendar, and email, but is otherwise the same as the web version of the service for mail and calendar. Furthermore, the updated application supports the mica material, which is consistent with Windows 11’s design.
The Office Insider Program members who have a Microsoft 365 subscription were the only ones who could preview the email client with the calendar view for a while. Everyone can access the most recent preview of the Outlook app, including those who have a Microsoft 365 subscription and use the Mail and Calendar app to access the original desktop version of the app.
The company claims that the initial preview is only compatible with Microsoft first-party accounts, whether they are personal, business, or educational. However, the experience is available to everyone, regardless of the account type. Additionally, this prototype is being released with the ability to integrate third-party email services, like Gmail, with Google Calendar access. But because this feature is being introduced gradually, it can take some time before everyone can access it.
You will discover how to obtain early access to the updated Outlook interface design on Windows 11 in this guide.
Enable new Outlook app on Windows 11
Follow these instructions to activate the new Outlook app on Windows 11:
Launch the Outlook Mail software on Windows 11.
Toggle the switch to “Try the New Outlook.”
Press the “Next” button.
(Selective) Select the “No, don’t send” option for optional data.
To accept, click the button.
On the “Continue” button, click.
Click the button labeled “Open Outlook.”
Whether you have the Mail and Calendar app or the older version of Outlook, you will be able to access the Outlook experience on Windows 11 after completing the steps.
A revamped version of the Outlook calendar application is also part of the experience.
You might need to update your email client software to enable the Try the New Outlook toggle switch if you can’t see it in the top-right corner. Click the “Get updates” option in the Microsoft Store app’s Library section if you have the Mail and Calendar app.
If you are using the desktop version of Outlook, select the Update Now button after opening the Update Options menu under the program >File>Office Account.
