UPDATED 3/27/2023: Microsoft is reducing the prior restrictions on the number of chat queries that can be answered using its Bing AI to 60 per day and 6 per session. The experience had drawbacks when the business originally revealed the new chatbot’s limited availability, but the questions weren’t one of them.
To cut down on the quantity of inaccurate and deceptive responses that lengthy sessions were giving to a select few users, the corporation, however, decided to limit the number of chat turns to five each session and fifty per day after observing the number of questions users were using per session each day.
After a lengthy chat session, the business admitted that the AI could provide strange and inaccurate responses with arguing tones and other behaviors, albeit it is unclear what the cause of the issue is. It wasn’t the case throughout the internal testing, thus it was something the company didn’t expect.
But in response to comments, Microsoft is loosening off and increasing the number of conversation turns per session to six, eventually reaching 60 chats daily. The business claims that data indicates that these new adjustments are sufficient to enable people to use Bing naturally on a daily basis.
Additionally, the business intends to shortly raise the daily cap to 100 total talks. Additionally, the normal searches will no longer be included in the chat totals as a result of these modifications.
Last but not least, Microsoft is developing a new feature that will let users alter the chatbot’s tone from more precise, which will concentrate on shorter, search-focused responses, to balanced, which will focus on longer, chattier responses, to more creative.
